Le 10 février dernier, l’équipe de Vertex Commotion s’est réuni pour une cause de coeur. Une des mission de Vertex est d’offrir des soins intégratifs aux gens qui ont subi un traumatisme crânio-cérébral (TCC). Plus spécifiquement, pour les TCC léger aussi connu comme une commotion cérébrale.
C’est en 2018 que la présidente de Vertex, Kyla Demers, eu son premier contact avec la Fondation Martin Matte. Avec des missions qui s’alignent, elle voit une opportunité de payer au suivant. La Fondation Martin Matte construit des maisons et organise des activités de répit pour les gens qui ont subi un TCC ou avec une déficience physique. En 2023, Vertex est devenue un partenaire officiel de la Fondation Martin Matte.
En 2024, l’équipe de Vertex était à sa 6e participation à l’événement de levée de fonds de la fondation Les Beaux 4h avec 8 équipes pour faire la collecte de dons. Durant la journée, Vertex fut présent dans le village des commanditaires pour faire de la sensibilisation des soins disponibles pour les TCC et les commotions cérébrales. De plus, nous avons lancé des défis aux participants avec certains de nos outils de réadaptation!
Ensuite, les membres de Vertex ont dévalé les pentes pour la cause avec certains membres de l’équipe qui étaient à leur première expérience en ski, certains des patients de Vertex ayant récupéré d’un TCCL et certain heureux de passer leur samedi soir avec des collègues de travail tous unis pour la cause!
C’est avec fierté que Vertex a cumulé 11 275 $ pour la cause en 2024. Le grand total des Beaux 4h, 757 000 $ pour la fondation! Nous avons déjà hâte à l’an prochain!
