Pourtant, de nombreuses \u00e9tudes d\u00e9montrent qu\u2019ils sont loin d\u2019\u00eatre rares. Une personne qui n\u2019a jamais ressenti d\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 auparavant peut soudainement d\u00e9velopper un trouble anxieux, des peurs irrationnelles, de l\u2019hypervigilance ou encore des sympt\u00f4mes d\u00e9pressifs \u00e0 la suite d\u2019une commotion.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>La peur<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il existe deux types de peur : la&nbsp;peur adaptative&nbsp;et la&nbsp;peur maladive. La premi\u00e8re joue un r\u00f4le essentiel. Elle nous aide \u00e0 reconna\u00eetre et \u00e0 \u00e9valuer les dangers r\u00e9els de la vie, comme la peur des hauteurs ou des serpents. La peur maladive, quant \u00e0 elle, est&nbsp;excessive, irrationnelle et persistante. C\u2019est celle qui peut mener \u00e0 l\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9, aux phobies ou aux crises de panique. Chez une personne vivant avec des sympt\u00f4mes de commotion c\u00e9r\u00e9brale, ces peurs peuvent prendre la forme de craintes de ne jamais retrouver une vie normale, de ne plus pouvoir pratiquer ses activit\u00e9s habituelles ou encore de voir ses sympt\u00f4mes s\u2019aggraver. Bien que certaines de ces peurs soient fond\u00e9es, il arrive que&nbsp;<strong>l\u2019<\/strong>anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 prenne le dessus&nbsp;et amplifie ces pens\u00e9es jusqu\u2019\u00e0 les rendre envahissantes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>L\u2019isolement social<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 tout cela s\u2019ajoute souvent&nbsp;l\u2019isolement social, un facteur trop souvent n\u00e9glig\u00e9, pourtant lourd de cons\u00e9quences. Se sentir seul ou incompris peut rapidement&nbsp;<strong>accentuer l\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9<\/strong>&nbsp;et fragiliser l\u2019\u00e9tat psychologique des personnes vivant avec une commotion c\u00e9r\u00e9brale. Cet isolement peut d\u00e9couler de plusieurs causes : la&nbsp;honte&nbsp;de ne pas fonctionner comme avant, la&nbsp;frustration&nbsp;de ne pas retrouver ses capacit\u00e9s, le&nbsp;sentiment que personne ne comprend r\u00e9ellement ce qu\u2019on vit, ou encore la&nbsp;volont\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9viter les situations susceptibles de d\u00e9clencher des sympt\u00f4mes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce type de blessure transforme le quotidien. Des gestes auparavant simples peuvent d\u00e9sormais repr\u00e9senter un&nbsp;v\u00e9ritable d\u00e9fi mental et physique. Aller au centre commercial, discuter avec un voisin ou simplement \u00e9couter la radio peut devenir une source de fatigue, de maux de t\u00eate ou d\u2019inconfort sensoriel. Peu \u00e0 peu, la personne peut se refermer sur elle-m\u00eame, non pas par choix, mais par&nbsp;peur de ne pas assez se prot\u00e9ger.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>L&#8217;anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 et la&nbsp;d\u00e9pression<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les troubles d\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 et de d\u00e9pression sont fr\u00e9quents apr\u00e8s une commotion c\u00e9r\u00e9brale, m\u00eame si leurs causes varient d\u2019une personne \u00e0 une autre.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Changements dans le cerveau\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>La commotion peut modifier le fonctionnement des zones qui r\u00e9gulent les \u00e9motions, comme l\u2019amygdale et le cortex pr\u00e9frontal. Ces perturbations rendent la gestion du stress et des \u00e9motions plus difficiles, ce qui peut mener \u00e0 de l\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 ou \u00e0 une humeur d\u00e9pressive.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>R\u00e9action \u00e9motionnelle \u00e0 la blessure\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Vivre une commotion est souvent un choc. Les difficult\u00e9s \u00e0 reprendre ses activit\u00e9s, la perte de rep\u00e8res et la frustration de ne pas se sentir \u00ab comme avant \u00bb peuvent entra\u00eener un sentiment d\u2019impuissance et contribuer \u00e0 la d\u00e9pression.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Effets cumulatifs\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Apr\u00e8s plusieurs commotions, les effets peuvent s\u2019additionner. Le cerveau devient plus vuln\u00e9rable et les sympt\u00f4mes \u00e9motionnels, plus persistants. Le risque de troubles de l\u2019humeur augmente alors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Atteintes fonctionnels visuel et vestibulaire \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 la suite d\u2019une commotion, il peut survenir des atteintes fonctionnelles au niveau du syst\u00e8me visuel \u2014 responsable de fournir une image claire \u00e0 la r\u00e9tine et de nous permettre de percevoir notre environnement p\u00e9riph\u00e9rique (un m\u00e9canisme essentiel \u00e0 l\u2019instinct de survie) \u2014 ainsi qu\u2019au niveau du syst\u00e8me vestibulaire, qui nous aide \u00e0 percevoir la gravit\u00e9 et \u00e0 nous situer dans l\u2019espace lorsque notre t\u00eate bouge (orientation spatiale).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lorsque le syst\u00e8me nerveux per\u00e7oit une situation comme potentiellement dangereuse, il peut d\u00e9clencher une r\u00e9action \u00e9motive, telle que l\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Autres facteurs\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Le manque de sommeil, la douleur chronique, la r\u00e9duction des activit\u00e9s sociales ou la peur d\u2019aggraver les sympt\u00f4mes peuvent aussi accentuer l\u2019anxi\u00e9t\u00e9 et la d\u00e9pression.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chaque personne vit une commotion diff\u00e9remment.
